Bug

n.
a glitch, esp. in software systems or programs
v.
to annoy or irritate; probably derived from the irritation caused by program glitches
(usage: "Don't bug me!")
Etym.:
ARCHAIC, a being of extremely diminutive size, often living in places where hygiene was substandard,
serving as the organic prototype for the insectroid and other waste management microbots; many
diseases with which organic bodies were often inflicted were transferred (or thought to be) by bugs,
and so the term came to be used for program glitches, esp. those that seem minor, yet interfere with
the larger system in which the program is meant to function
Related terms:
virus, worm
