Notes on Scrap Paper
BY SHELLY BRYANT I OCTOBER 23, 2009
A note jotted down
a line, a number,
a name, an address
Paper flooded front
and back, tattooed
in varied colors of ink
Small bits of white skin showing
Spaces too small
for my scribblings
my random thoughts
Like the spaces
in which I live and move
and wonder what to be
Not quite big enough
Rooms with walls too close
echo of my scream's
echo bouncing about
In spaces too tight
for sound to spread
a voice, so much noise
So little ever said
