Silence
BY LEONARD KREGER II I MARCH 11, 2010
The ice cream is melting. The drinks are getting warm.
Unpleasant smells are coming from the fridge.
Silence throughout the apartment.
Silence.
Food is going bad and the grass will grow too high.
The ice cream is melting and the drinks are getting warm.
Unpleasant smells are coming from the fridge.
Silence.
Erase the years and call me on the cell phone.
The future’s bleak.
This isn't working, it's not working.
The ice cream is melting and the pizza is lying on the floor.
It smells bad it smells real bad, shit.
An ambulance drives down the street and the neighbors are all in shock.
In shock, what has happened?
Questions and no answers.
Questions and no answers.
Dogs are barking and children are running through yards.
The sky is dark, the clouds are everywhere, we wait for the rain.
Silence in the house where he lived.
Silence.
