Temporal Relativity (The Counterclockwise Rewrite)
BY J.E. STANLEY I MARCH 9, 2010
You've already read this.
You just don't know it.
The universe is now collapsing.
And, as a result, time is moving backward,
approaching Zero,
erasing your future instead of your past.
You think the universe is still expanding
and time is ticking ahead.
But that’s mere relativity, your point of view.
Like existence itself,
the neural sparks arcing through the synapses
of your brain are firing in reverse.
The past you seem to remember:
your first kiss, from Chrissy Warner
when she caught you off-guard,
the birth of your daughter,
the siege of Khe Sanh
that took your right eye
and almost your life,
none of that has happened.
At least, not yet.
You don’t believe me?
Then, prove me wrong.
Find a hole in the theory,
a single inconsistency.
Or, show me even one valid equation,
any equation, whose inverse is not true.
It’s just the way it is.
The sun sets before it rises.
We are not born to die.
we die to be born.
Just hope that, at the end of it all,
there will be a bang. A big one.
