SUBMIT
Sloth Jockey accepts unsolicited submissions of any type.
WRITING
We are interested in short story, personal essay, journalistic writing, interview, poetry, and flash fiction submissions. If you have a submission that does not fall into one of these categories and you are considering sending us your work, please do so. We are always open to new suggestions.
As a general rule, we consider flash fiction submissions any fictional prose piece under 1500 words. Anything over that word count will be considered a short story.
Submissions should be sent via e-mail and attached as Microsoft Word documents. Please include your full name and a reliable contact email address in the upper left corner of the first page of your manuscript. Sloth Jockey prefers the use of real names over pseudonyms, but as we have been guilty of passing the buck to our multiple online personas in the past, we will certainly respect those who wish to use pennames as long as this information is indicated in the Word document.
Please also include a brief 2-3 sentence bio to be posted in our Contributors section. If you would like your email address or personal website to be posted along with your bio or submission, let us know, and we’ll be happy to do so.

ART/PHOTOS
We accept all types of art and photo submissions as long as they are in one of the following file formats: JPG, GIF, PNG, TIF, or PDF. File sizes should not exceed 3 MB. Images will be displayed on the website at no larger than 600 pixels height or width and 72 pixels-per-inch resolution. A small slothjockey.com slugline will be added to all images selected for exhibition.

MUSIC
Music submissions should be sent in MP3 format. Along with the music file, you should also send [if desired] a small photo to be posted along with your song as well as a link to your band’s website or MySpace page.
Sending a short paragraph bio is also permissible as long as it is attached to your email as a Microsoft Word document.

VIDEO
Video submissions should be sent in any of the following formats: MPG, MPEG, AVI, MOV, WMV, or YouTube link. We would appreciate if you would adhere strictly to our video size requirement, which is 320x240.
Please also include a brief 2-3 sentence bio in the body of your email to be posted in our Contributors section. If you would like your email address or personal website to be posted along with your bio or submission, let us know, and we’ll be happy to do so.
PAYMENT
We regret that we are unable to pay our contributors at this time. We think it is bullshit when well-established websites refuse to pay artists, writers, and musicians for their work, but we simply don’t have the resources to do this right now. However, we do hope to be able to pay our contributors in the future. Please do not begrudge us our poverty.
SOLICITED WORK
Contributors who submit to Sloth Jockey might be contacted in the future and requested to solicit work. If you do not wish to be contacted by us or our site visitors, please do not choose to post your email address as indicated in the submission
instructions above.
